Fred serves as CSO and site head of Mariana Oncology. He is a passionate and experienced drug discoverer and brings more than 20 years of R&D experience to Mariana Oncology. Fred has meaningfully contributed to the fields of inflammation, cardiovascular, and oncology and, together with his teams, delivered more than 40 clinical candidates, 20 INDs and 2 marketed drugs (MayzentTM and JoenjaTM). Above all, Fred has a passion for science, mentoring, and coaching the future generation of scientists and leaders.

Fred obtained his PhD at Imperial College, studying organic chemistry, followed by a postdoc at the SCRIPPS Research Institute. Before joining Mariana Oncology, he was the global head of chemistry oncology at Novartis. Fred is well published, having authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and patents.
